Born on the 30th March, 1965 In Konshisha LGA of Benue State. Attended LGEA Primary School Ikyaave between 1973 – 1978, Teachers College Kafanchan, Kaduna State between 1984 - 1989, College of Education Katsina Ala, Benue State, between 1991 – 1995, and Benue State University Makurdi between 2000 – 2004 and 2006 – 2010 where she bagged B.sc and M.Sc Sociology respectively. She entered the civil service through the State Primary Education Board (SPEB), now State Universal Basic Education Board Headquarters (SUBEB) in 1990 and has risen through the ranks to the rank of the Director, Academic services department at the SUBEB Headquarters. She is a seasoned career civil servant with over 30 years of experience in Teaching and Educational Management. Her journey in the field has equipped her with a diverse skill set, including Teaching, Quality Assurance Monitoring and Evaluation, and Guidance & Counselling amongst others.

Mrs. Esther Nyiepine Unande, asides her civil service career has also held several responsibilities in non-governmental bodies through community services where she has been Secretary General, Kaambe Rural Women Multi – purpose Cooperative Society Ltd. From 1994 – 2016, Treasurer Kaambe Women Development Association Makurdi from 2010 – 2012, Auxilliary Camp Scripture Secretary 2012 – 2015, Financial Secretary Nongov Women Development Association Makurdi from 2016 – 2019, Secretary General Women Fellowship NKST Church Iortyer 2016 – 2019, Auxiliary Area Director, Area 6 Central East Association 2015 -2021, Woman Leader (Kwase Hemen) NKST Women Fellowship Iortyer evening section 2020 – 2023, Auxilliary President of Central East States of the Gideons International, 2021 –May 2024, President General, Kaambe Women Development Association Makurdi, January 2024 – date.

She is happily married with children.
